 Title Research Analysis

    The summary I chose to analyze was Captain Marvel (2019). I feel that the title does a good job at giving away the genre of the project, which is action. It sets up a theme of good and evil with the contrast of characters and colors, which correlates well with the genre. The setting of the title being in space with the metal and rigid font conveys a feeling of armor or spaceships. It sets up a tone of excitement and supernaturalism, which is very common in action. My selection of this summary will be quite different to how I am planning on using titles in my opening sequence. My film will stray more towards adventure and mission themes types, as this summary has a very superhero feel. I will effectively use titles to help convey meaning in my opening sequence, by using adventurous fonts and mysterious styles. This way, my audience will not get confused and think that they are about to watch a superhero action film.

Semester 1 Reflection Reflecting on my progress in the Media Studies course, I feel as though my relationship with media has changed  drastically. Prior to taking this course, I did not thi nk much about what really goes into making and producing a film. I would just watch a movie  almost mindlessly , and my b rain would be tricked into the idea that everything just  almost magically  falls into place. However, after learning and working  through  units on aspects such as cinematography, mise  en  scene, editing, sound, and much more,  my eyes and understanding have begun to open on the reality of media.    I did not realize how much the little components can make  a big difference  in a film.  Small things  such as costume, composition, and even  different types  of  shots can all help to create and convey all kinds of meaning.
