Production Update #1

    I currently have a good percentage of my production process completed for the Final Project. I have done all of my planning, including storyboarding, scriptwriting, choosing my cast, and creating a preferred timeline for myself. For my storyboard, I created rough sketches of the main scenes in my opening sequence. This will help me have a much smoother shooting session whereas I will already have a good idea of what I am filming. It was also very beneficial of me to create my script, so me and the other actors will not be confused during filming. With choosing my actors, I will not have to be looking around last minute for who will help me with my project. I am now ready to begin filming. With all of these components completed in the beginning of the production process, I should have a smooth shooting experience.

Semester 1 Reflection

Semester 1 Reflection Reflecting on my progress in the Media Studies course, I feel as though my relationship with media has changed  drastically. Prior to taking this course, I did not thi nk much about what really goes into making and producing a film. I would just watch a movie  almost mindlessly , and my b rain would be tricked into the idea that everything just  almost magically  falls into place. However, after learning and working  through  units on aspects such as cinematography, mise  en  scene, editing, sound, and much more,  my eyes and understanding have begun to open on the reality of media.    I did not realize how much the little components can make  a big difference  in a film.  Small things  such as costume, composition, and even  different types  of  shots can all help to create and convey all kinds of meaning.
