Preproduction Plan
Pre Production Plan
I plan on using a plethora of materials when filming my Final Project. The camera I plan on using is my Canon Rebel T2i. I already own this camera, so I will not have to worry about gaining access to it. I enjoy taking quality pictures on this camera, so I am sure that it will be able to serve as a good camera to film on. A few props I plan on including are cars, flashlights, siren, guns/lasers, swords, helmets, or even warning labels. The usage of cars can help add to the fast-paced excitement aspect of the film, with flashlights and sirens adding to the visual and sound affect. Depending on where I decide to set my film in, lasers or guns could be necessary to portray getting ready to battle. Warning labels and any other visual signs could help to add suspense and tension for the characters situation. I plan on finding all of these materials in my house, or DIY-ing the ones that I do not have. The costumes are very important in action movies, as they help to set the mood. A few costumes I plan on including are the protagonist/ hero's, the antagonist/ villains, a side kick, and possibly a love of interest. The hero's costume and the side kick should be slightly colorful and powerful, to convey the good side. The villains should be a darker color and possibly damaged, to convey the bad side. The love of interest should have a more modern, neutral outfit due to them not fighting. I plan on using pieces of clothing or old costumes I have in my house to properly dress my actors.
There are only a few locations a plan shooting in. I plan on shooting primarily inside my house, due to accessibility, actors, and convenience. This could be good for opening scenes or dialogue between characters. I could use places such as my long hallway for a good action setting. However, I may decide to do some outdoor shots, such as in my backyard or on the street in my neighborhood. This setting could be good for battle scenes or intense shots that I need an setting with a different feel. This setting my even need to be able to facilitate events such as explosions or chases. Due to majority of the film being within my property, I will not need permission to film in these locations. I will be able to have a much more controlled film setting by utilizing my home. I will have time to take detailed shots without rush, due to not having a time limit to film.
I will need a considerable amount of personpower for me to have a successful film. Positions I will need include a director, cinematographer, editor, and actors. I plan on playing a part in each of these roles, to ensure maximum satisfaction for my end result. My mom will help me direct, and will give me her honest opinion on the storyline, shots, and angles. She can also help me with the cinematography aspect, such as making sure costumes, props, and makeup are on point. Editing will be all on me, as I am pretty confident on working with editing apps. I will utilize my little brothers, Joshua and Matthias, to help with acting as they could be villains, heroes, sidekicks, etc. I feel that with the help of my family, I will be able to create a successful film that matches my vision.
